Chapter 1

Yumi  sat at the table looking at the little cake. She had been wearing her long black dress that tied around the back of her neck, and it was her 16th birthday. The year that vampires change, for the immortal part of their life. But nothing happened, she had waited all day, and nothing happened. She was saddened by this as Saku was very grateful. He had been the only human at her house.  The cake was a dark red, to make it look like blood as Yumi stared at it her family and Saku sang happy birthday. After they sang her mom Noriko had cut the cake in half, and gave it to Saku and Yumi. Saku took his and ate it.
"This is good cake, Mrs. Mochizuki," he said.
Noriko smiled, "Thank you! I appreciate it!" she replied.
Yumi took her cake and started to eat it slowly. to vampires Human food was repulsive. Yuku and yin hugged her from behind. "Happy birthday shorty!" they yelled. Yumi almost jumped, Yuku handed her a present, and walked towards their parents. They stared eagerly at her. Yumi opened it up, and pulled out a necklace.  It was silver, with a blood red cross, with a pearl that represented the moon in the middle of it.
Yumi smiled, "Wow, it's beautiful," she said.
Saku head hung over Yumi's, as he looked at it, "Is that the family crest?" his eyes searched the room, at everyone who was wearing the same thing.
Hisao, Yumi's dad nodded, "Yep,"
"I see," Saku said.
"Thanks mom, dad, Yuku, Yin and Kita,"
Kita grinned, "No problem!"
Yumi sighed and got up, she wasn't hungry. She walked out to the living room and sat down. Kita poked her head, Yuku right above her.
"Wow, she's really sad," Kita said.
Saku looked at Yumi, but stayed at the door way, "Well I'm glad she's not a vamp yet" he said.  
Yuku, Yin and Kita glared at him, Yumi's parents laughed.  They only had a few more weeks at school, and this was Yuku and Yin's senior year. Saku went home at about 8 o'clock. Yumi had gone upstairs to work on some homework. Yumi walked to school, she was still depressed, as she walked and met up with Saku.  He was casually leaning on the tree like usual. When Yumi got to him, he straightened, up and walked towards her.
"Hey," he said.
"Hi..." Yumi replied.
"So ready for another day of fighting?"  he asked.
Yumi shrugged, fighting was part of her schedule on the day. Vampires were normally jumped or ganged up on the vampires and fight with them. Yumi had an umbrella with her, trying to keep herself dry. It wasn't a long walk, but she normally didn't talk. Saku smiled, keeping his hands in his pocket.  The two soon got to school. Yumi went to her locker to put her bag away. There was a vampire kid being beat up by Saku's siblings. They didn't really go to school but they kept the vampires from hurting humans. However, there were more of them then there was of Yumi's family, which made them the bigger kings. Yumi went to her locker and put her book bag away. She grabbed a pencil, notebooks, and book. She headed off to class as Saku had to catch up with his brothers and sister.  Hiro walked up to saku followed by Nara and Ronin. Nara had orange curly hair that went to at least about 2 inches from her shoulder. She wore average clothing. A T-shirt and a regular zip up sweater.
Ronin was taller than Nara. He was muscular. His hair was orange, and piked back abit. His eyes here hazel like his sister Nara. They walked up to Saku grinning. Saku gave them a puzzled look.
"Uh guys?" he asked.
"Heh heh.." Ronin smirked.
"Ok Saku we need your help.." Nara said after about a few minutes of thinking over their plot.
"What is it?" Saku asked narrowing his eyes.
"We're gonna make the vending machines shoot blood packets so fast and hard that they pop when they meet something physical,"  a grin found it's way onto Nara's face.
Saku narrowed his eyes, "So.. your gonna get the vampire in trouble for attacking humans?" Naranad Ronin nodded.
"We need help unloading the blood packets. Saku took a step back, "Count me out.." he left them standing there.
